Albert Ray Woodall, 72, formerly of Logansport, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 in his residence in North Carolina.
Ray was born December 25, 1945 in Forrest City, Arkansas. He was the second of two sons born to Sarah and Bill Woodall.
He did two tours of duty with the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam war. He is a Purple Heart recipient for injuries in battle during that war.
He married Laura Foudray in 1968 and they were married for 40 plus years, she preceded him in death. Ray worked 24 years at Wilson's Meat Packing Company in Logansport, IN and he was employed at Daimler Chrysler in Kokomo, IN until he retired.
He was a soldier of The Salvation Army corps community center in Logansport, serving in many capacities. His love for God and people were reflected in his responsibilities as Corps Sergeant Major, Sunday School teacher, Boy Scout leader, and involvement in youth and men's ministries. He was often asked to preach in worship services as well as lead the music. Together he and Laura shared in an effort to bring others evangelistic chalk talk and music ministry, combining their talents in effort to others into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
He continued to attend and participate at church as often as his health would allow
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura, his brother, Bennie Floyd, Woodall, and his mother Sarah Courtney.
He is survived by many brothers. sisters-in-laws and nieces and nephews. who all loved him dearly.
His deepest desire was that everyone he met would come to know and love his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A celebration of life service is going to be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 10, 2018 in the Salvation Army at 620 Wilkinson Street, Logansport, IN 46947. Burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Thursday.
