Allen Parrett

Allen K. Parrett, 99, Kokomo, (formerly of Logansport), passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at Bloom of Kokomo in Kokomo, IN.

Born on March 10, 1921 in Logansport, he is the son to the late Harry and Eulalah (Patton) Parrett. On February 5, 1942 in Logansport, he married Martha Deane Ayers who preceded in death on October 14, 2013 after 71 years of marriage.

Allen was a railroader for 36 years, retiring in 1981. He served his country from 1942-1945 during WWII. Allen graduated from Logansport High School in 1939 and attended Wabash College and Indiana University.

He was an avid fisherman and golfer. Fishing the Eel River and playing golf at Dykeman GC where he had 4 hole-in-ones.  He served as President of the Babe Ruth League in the late 50’s and was an avid blood donor his whole life.

Allen was a member of River of Life Christian Church, Elks Lodge #66, American Legion Post 60 and past President of the Babe Ruth League.

Surviving is a son, Michael (Patricia) Parrett, Kokomo; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Allen Parrett, daughter, Marsha Ann Copeland; a brother, and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory. A private burial will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
