Alvin Young Jr.,90 , of Logansport, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his residence
Born December 29, 1923, he was the son to the late Alvin Sr. and Alice L. (Fultz) Young.
On January 4, 1948 in Logansport, IN, he married Betty J. Ball, who preceded in death February 15, 1995.
Alvin retired from United Technology. He also worked for his father at Young's Texaco filling station on 13th and Market Street in Logansport, and Union 76 on 6th and Race Street. He was a 1942 graduate of Royal Center High School and a member of the Cross Wind United Methodist Church. Alvin is a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #3790, American Legion Post 60, and Tipton Masonic Lodge #33.
Surviving is one son, Stanley A. (Deb) Young, Logansport, IN; two daughters, Brenda L. (Charles) Carmin, Logansport, IN; Trudi Rose, Logansport, IN; 9 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son in law, David Rose.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Speicher Officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport, IN.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, also in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 60, or Tipton Masonic Lodge #33.
