Arthur M. “Mike” Frye, 89, of Logansport passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester, IN.
Born on August 3, 1926 in Carroll County, Indiana, he was the son of the late Alexander Hoover Frye and Isabelle Shaffer. On January 12, 1948 in Burnettsville he married Norma Jean Gaby who preceded in death on May 20, 1989.
Arthur was the owner and operator of Frye Trucking Company in Kewanna. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II, a member of the
Kewanna Masonic Lodge, V.F.W. Post #1121 and American Legion Post #60.
Surviving is one son, Phillip (Lynne) Frye, Rochester; four daughters, Diana Smith, Rochester; Kathy (Dan) Smith, Burnettsville; Linda Brady, Logansport; Carol (Eric) Colvin, Kewanna; sister, Betty (Bob) Ostler, Lafayette; brother, Don Frye, Logansport; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey and Michael Frye; two grandchildren, Kenneth Robert Dague and Baby Dague.
A celebration of life will be at 1:00 PM Friday May 27, 2016 at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastors Jim Sparks and Phillip Frye officiating, with burial to follow in Seceder Cemetery Lockport, IN.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
