Barbara Hooton Shideler

Barbara A. Hooton Shideler, 93, of Franklin, Indiana, formerly of Logansport, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Hickory Creek Nursing Facility, in Franklin, Indiana.

Born on March 24, 1926 in Logansport, she is the daughter to the late John I. and Martha (Keys) Baker. Barbara was married to Carl F. Hooton who preceded in death on July 12, 1974. She then married Jim Shideler who preceded in death on February 5, 2007.

Barbara was a member of the Baptist Temple in Logansport. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving is a daughter, Martha Hooton, Logansport; son in law, Jeff Long, Greenwood, IN; daughter in law Kathy Hooton, Bristol, TN; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hooton and a daughter, Mary Long.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Burt Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday.
