Services for Bernard âNardoâ William Gundrum, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. William Art Maloney officiating.
He died at 11:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, in his residence.
Born June 9, 1932, in Royal Center, he was the son of Otto F. âJimâ and Monica B. Gerlach Gundrum. On Aug. 31, 1951, he was married in Denver to Wanda Mae Holcomb. She preceded in death on Nov. 9, 1994. His second marriage was April 9, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nev. to Lois Jean Hazel, who survives.
In 1989, he retired from Exide Corporation after 28 years of service. He also worked for 10 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad.
A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, he was a member and past commander of Rochester American Legion Post 36 and past chef DeGare of 40 & 8. He was a life member of the Kewanna VFW Post.
He also was a member of the Rochester Moose and Eagles lodges. He was a 1950 Fulton High School graduate and was a member of the All-County Basketball Team.
Surviving with his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Karyn Gundrum, Logansport, and Mark and Brenda Gundrum, Fulton; his stepdaughter, Debbie Carpenter, Jackson, Mich.; three brothers and their wives, James and Bette Gundrum, Kewanna, Ronald and Lois Gundrum, Fulton and Thomas D. and Bev Gundrum, Logansport; five sisters-in-law, Donna Belle See, Deedsville, Clymenia Halterman and her husband, Willie, Judy Kuhn and her husband, Chuck, Mona Snook and her husband, Phil, and Elnora Sayger and her husband Jack, all of Rochester; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Jim and Betty Tyler, Billie and Donna Tyler and Paul and Sandy Tyler, all of Rochester; a granddaughter, Emma Gundrum, Logansport; a grandson, Adam Gundrum, Twelve Mile; two stepgrandsons, Joshua Roark, Jackson, Mich., and Brian Roark and his wife, Tammy, Lansing, Mich.; and four stepgreat-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Zoe, Alyssa and Joey Roark. One daughter preceded in death.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial with full military graveside rites will be in Fulton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice or to the Fulton Cemetery.
