Bernard T. Slusser, 89, of Logansport, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at McKinney Place in Logansport.
Born on June 3, 1933, in Logansport, Bernard is the son of the late Truman F. and Clara (Sprinkle) Slusser. On April 25, 1953, in Clymers, IN, he married Mary Jane Appleton who preceded him in death on March 9, 2013.
Bernard was a lifelong farmer, and his love of the land and knowledge of farming will be carried on for generations to come. He was also a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
Surviving Bernard are two daughters, Julee (Tim) Chambers, Lindy Slusser (Vince Rhodes); and a son, Rex (Toni) Slusser, all of Logansport; seven grandchildren, Brent (Allison) Chambers, Brandon Chambers, Ren Shafer, Ross Shafer, all of Logansport; Shane (Courtney Bowsman) Slusser of Indianapolis; Sheldon Slusser of California; Seth Slusser of Indianapolis; two great granddaughters, Abigail and Audrey Chambers and his beloved dog , Buddy.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Slusser.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Creek Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church or the Cass County Humane Society.
