Bertha A. Shank, 71, Logansport, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, in her residence.
Born Aug. 1, 1938, in Branch, Mich., she was the daughter of John and Nellie Albaitis Willavage. She was married April 29, 1959, in Pawtucket, R.I., to Jerry Shank, who survives.
Bertha is a retired bookkeeper and homemaker.
She enjoyed looking for collectibles and unusuals, putting puzzles together with her husband, driving around in her PT Cruiser, dining out and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed learning how to use computers and e-mailing friends and family.
Also surviving are son, Raymond Shank and wife, Christi, Galveston; daughter, Cheryl Rhodes, Winamac; grandchildren, Courtney, Megan and Brock Shank, all of Galveston, Skip Singley and Kyle Rhodes, both of Logansport, and Katie Rhodes, Fort Wayne; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Owen Singley, Logansport, and Cayne Miller, Fort Wayne; and caregiver and friend, Velma Clark, Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Bernie Willavage.
There will be no services and no visitation.
