Betty Louise Angle Alder, 94, Logansport, died at 2:43 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born Feb. 26, 1917, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Glen and Kate Hays Clinger. Her first marriage was Feb. 26, 1940, in Twelve Mile, to Curtis Eugene Angle, who preceded in death May 19, 1958. Her second marriage was Nov. 21, 1963, to Everett Edwin Alder, who preceded in death May 20, 1996.

She retired from the H.W. Gossard Company and had also formerly worked at the St. Joseph Hospital in the cafeteria.

She was a former member of the Fidelity Chapter 58 Order of Eastern Star and Yorktown Road Church of Christ. Betty was a 1935 graduate of Logansport High School. She enjoyed knitting and did many word search books.

Surviving are daughter, Lynn Michael and husband, Gary, Camden; stepson, Ed Alder and wife, Linda, Zionsville; stepdaughters, Kathy Englekes, Mesa, Ariz., and Dianna May Yucom and husband, Tim, Montgomery, Ill.; seven grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and several step and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Jim Alder and John Alder.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Strite officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
