Betty Callipo

Services for Betty J. Callipo, 84, Kokomo, formerly of Logansport, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in her residence.

Born March 10, 1925, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Harry and Inez V. Staley Sutton. She was married Nov. 20, 1982, in Logansport, to Frank A. Callipo, who preceded in death April 7, 2005.

Betty retired after 25 years as the owner and operator of Betty’s Beauty College. She also worked for General Motors for 10 years.

She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church of Kokomo and Fidelity Chapter 58 Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are son, Stuart Brandt and wife, Cynthia, Carmel; daughter, Deborah Beard and husband, Lynn, Kokomo; two sisters, Wilma Erny and husband, Keith, and Wilda Wellman and husband, Gene, all of Logansport; and one grandson, Christopher Beard and wife, Danielle, Holly Springs, N.C.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Price.

Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Friends may call one hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
