Betty Lou (Hile) Gordon

Betty Lou Gordon, age 95, of Logansport, joined her Lord and Savior on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024.

Born October 18, 1929, in Carroll County, IN to the late Lester Ralph and Minnie Esteline (Caldwell) Hile. On November 19, 1950, in Logansport she married Russell G. “Ike” Gordon who preceded her in death on September 18, 2024. They were blessed with 73 years of marriage.

Betty retired in 1992 after 40 years as a valued employee for the R.B.M.

After retirement Betty volunteered at Chase Center and Miller's Merry Manor for many years. She enjoyed helping others, talking to residents, and showing them, she really cared. Over the years she earned numerous awards at Miller's including Volunteer of the year in 1996 and 2010. She was also honored as an Older Hoosier Volunteer in 1992, 1994, 1995 and 2000 for resident care. In the summers, for over 35 years, Betty and her husband Ike would do mission work at different church camps in the United States. She was a member of Main Street Community Church and Royal Center O.E.S. #375. Betty loved her family and took special pride in helping her grandchildren whenever she could and was a very loving and caring person.

Survivors include two sons, Terry (Linda) Gordon, Logansport; Ron (Kat) Gordon, Logansport; six grandchildren, T.J. (Cara) Gordon, Jessie (Adam) Perrone, Kimberly (David Corrales) Gordon, Kelly Gordon, Jessica (Joel Cisne) Kerns and Kassi (Che Dinteman) Kerns; three great grandchildren, Macen Perrone, Case Perrone and Colette Gordon; several nieces and nephews

Betty was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. 

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 am Saturday December 28, 2024, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. A burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street Community Church.
