Betty Lou Lease, 82, Lucerne, passed away at 10:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Lucerne, to Donald Herd and Katie Eikelberner.
She was married Oct. 31, 1948, at Zion Methodist Parsonage in Lucerne, to Harry Bud Lease, who survives.
Betty was a farmer. She was also a cook for the Caston School Corporation for 29 years.
A 1948 graduate of Lucerne High School, Betty was a member of the Lucerne Zion United Methodist Church and the 20th Century Extension Homemakers Club. She also enjoyed mowing her yard as well as flower and vegetable gardening.
Surviving are husband, Harry Bud Leas, Lucerne; daughters, Candy English and husband, Gary, Lafayette, Barb Troyer and husband, Larry, Twelve Mile, and Judy Kellems and husband, Jack, Lucerne; grandchildren, Bill English, Emily Goertemoeller, Amanda Offutt, Joseph Troyer, David Cooley and Darla Leavell; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Herd and wife, Phyllis, Lucerne; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lease.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Hapner officiating. Burial will be at Indian Creek Christian Cemetery, Lucerne.
Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
