Services for Betty J. Maple, 91, Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cross-Wind United Methodist Church.

She died at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born July 13, 1915, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Edward Roland and Signa Teresa Wilson Hutton. She was married Sept. 16, 1935, in Mishawaka, to Paul Curtis Maple Sr., who preceded in death July 1, 1987.

Betty was a retired nurse’s aide, working for Memorial Hospital. She also had worked at the H.W. Gossard Company.

Betty was a devoted member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church, where she was a member of SSS Bible Study Club, sewing club and head of the prayer chain committee. Betty had received the Good Neighbor Award and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty Anne Wilson and Sandra Sue Nason, both of Logansport; four sons, Paul Maple Jr. and his wife, Betty, Ashland, Wis., Michael Maple and his wife, Karen, Logansport, Edward Maple and his wife, Karen, Palm Bay, Fla., and Steve Maple and his wife, Vicki, Wheatfield; one brother, Charles E. Hutton and his wife, Lucreda, Winamac; one sister, Elda Shaver, Logansport; grandsons, Mark Maple and his wife, Melissa, New Richmond, Wis., Jeffrey Maple and his wife, Maryann, Ashland, Wis., Timothy Maple and his wife, Dawn, St. Paul, Minn., Scott Wilson and his wife, Shawna, Chris Wilson, Tony Maple and his wife, Wendy, and Ed Nason and his wife, Kiley, all of Logansport, Patrick Greene and his wife, Melissa, Austin, Texas, Shawn Maple and his wife, Jen, Indianapolis, Shane Maple and his friend, Sunny, Fishers, and Eric Maple and his wife, Carly, Wheatfield; granddaughters, Lori Gales and her husband, Craig, Anchorage, Alaska, Jackie Troglen and her husband, Tosh, and Kelley Law and her husband, Jon, all of Indianapolis, and Shanna Pogue and her husband, Tim, Evansville; great-grandchildren, Dillon Maple, Casey Rubrecht and her husband, Treavor, and Heather Perkins and her husband, Wayne, all of New Richmond, Wis., Michael and Allison Maple, Ashland, Wis., Erica and Alexandra Maple, and Danica and Drake Durand, all of St. Paul, Minn., Brandon Wilson, Lindsay Kaufman and her fiancé, Matt Gibson, Leighann Hershberger and her husband, Jeff, Curtis Wilson and his friend, Ashley Hathaway, and Hannah, Reagan and Henry Maple, all of Logansport, Courtni Wicker and her husband, John, Del Rio, Texas, MaKenna and Kaden Gales, Anchorage, Alaska, Dylan Troglen, and Brooke and Walker Law, all of Indianapolis, Anthony and Baby Greene, Austin, Texas, Emma Rae and Brock Stephen Maple, Wheatfield, and Baby Girl Pogue, Evansville.; great-great-grandchildren, Christian Wicker, Del Rio, Texas, and Shawn Perkins and Devin Rubrecht, New Richmond, Wis.; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Three grandchildren, Jessica Wilson, Steve Maple Jr. and Atkin Law, and one son-in-law, Jack Wilson, preceded in death.

The Rev. Gary Lewis will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour before services Saturday in the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cross-Wind United Methodist Church and to the Salvation Army.
