Betty Overholser

LOGANSPORT — Betty J. Overholser, 77, Logansport, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 30, 1934, in Adams County, she was the daughter of Chalmer and Melvina Smitley Sheets. She was married May 16, 1953, in Pyrmont, to John E. Overholser.

Betty was a homemaker.

She was a member of Church of Christ in Logansport. Betty enjoyed reading and singing.

Surviving are her husband, John E. Overholser, Logansport; children, Sandra Fay Netser, Logansport, Samuel Leroy Overholser, North Carolina, Shirley Phipps and husband, Bob, Logansport, Steven Overholser and wife, Kathy, Fulton, and Scott Overholser and wife, Regina, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Jenna Kae Edwards.

There will be no services. Gundrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ in Logansport.
