Services for Betty Frances Russell, 80, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
She passed away at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in her residence.
Born Nov. 5, 1926, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of George and Mable Hardy Arion. She was married Dec. 16, 1949, in Wheeling, to Arthur A. Russell, who survives.
A homemaker, Betty attended the Main Street United Methodist Church and was a charter member of Hearth & Home Extension Homemakers Club. She also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post #3790.
Betty left this life after a long battle with cancer, but as she was nearing her physical demise, her faith and hope grew stronger with each passing day.
Betty was a wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved her gardening, reading and especially spending time with her family.
Betty enjoyed life and would not have viewed her demise as the end, but rather as the start to a new beginning.
Also surviving are one daughter, Judith Massey and her husband, John, Logansport; one son, Steven Russell and his wife, Annette, Logansport; sisters, Mable Adsit, Burrows, Doris Blackburn and her husband, Leonard, Flora, and Krenta Keller and her husband, Don, Rossville; one brother, George Arion, Jr., Flora; and three grandchildren, Amy Russell and her fiancé, Jeff Welker, Royal Center, Holly Bridge and her husband, Bobby, Avon, and Josh Russell, Logansport.
One sister, Helen Williams, and one brother, Harold Arion, preceded in death.
Chaplain Joyce Brooks will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
