Services for Betty Lorraine Taylor, 89, Logansport, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died 2:25 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, in Seton Specialty Hospital, Lafayette.

Born June 14, 1920, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Jasper and Agnes Siddall Flory. She was married on May 8, 1945, in Indianapolis, to William Menke “Bill” Taylor Sr., who preceded in death Feb. 15, 2007.

Betty served as executive secretary at Amchem Corp. in Ambler, Pa. She was also co-owner of Tay-Mor Industries, Inc. from 1973 to 1993, with her husband and sons.

She was a 1938 graduate of New Waverly High School and graduated from Indiana Business College. Betty was an active member of the local chapter of P.E.O.

She loved entertaining and spending time with her family and many friends here and in Naples, Fla. She and her husband, Bill, traveled extensively throughout the world during their 61 years of marriage, and they were always planning the next trip. She had a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile, which will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two sons, William M. Taylor Jr. and wife Barbara L., Logansport, and Alan R. Taylor and wife Teresa, Logansport; sister-in-law, Jane Flory, Logansport; grandchildren Todd R. Taylor and wife Hillery, Logansport, and Zachary Taylor and Danielle Syslo, Los Angeles, Calif.; step-grandchildren, Becky Denny, Squaw Lake, Minn., Jamie Black, Peru, Shawn Black, Logansport; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Loran and Graham Taylor; step-great-grandchildren, Brian Denny, Peyton Black and Kohlee Black; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

On brother, Richard Flory, also preceded in death.

Friends may call from noon until time of services on Tuesday.

The Rev. Kathleen Hines will officiate. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Betty.
