Betty M. Viney, 83, Camden, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, in Clarion Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.

She was born March 18, 1928, in Logansport, the daughter of W. Ralph and Thelma A. Brant Grable. She was married Jan. 24, 1953, in Rockfield to Gilbert L. “Sam” Viney, who preceded in death April 27, 2005.

She was a former assistant manager at Montgomery Ward. She was a member of the VFW Post 3790 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 60 Auxiliary, Eagles Lodge 323 Auxiliary, La Societe de Femme (40 and 8) Auxiliary, Logansport Women’s Bowling Association, Hoosier Women Bowling Writers, National Women Bowling Writers and Logansport Association Bowlers Hall of Fame Museum.

Survivors include her sons, John Viney and wife, Jean, Logansport, Barry L. Roland and wife, Marlyn, Texas, and Garry C. Webb, Indianapolis; daughters, Lindy Reid and husband, Fred, Camden, and Janet G. Wilburn, Indianapolis; half-brother, David R. Smith and wife, Janie, Delphi; half-sister, Barbara Erickson and husband, Chuck, Logansport; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepbrother, Charles E. Smith; a stepfather, Charles E. Smith Sr.; and and a son-in-law, Bill Wilburn.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home.with Pastor W. Frank Hibbard officiating. Burial will be Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made at the funeral home to the local D.A.V.
