Services for Beverly J. Ashby, 81, Logansport, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
She died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 21, 1926, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Snyder. She was married Dec. 14, 1946, in Burlington, to Richard âDickâ Ashby, who preceded in death June 25, 2007.
Beverly was a graduate of Burlington High School and worked as a nurseâs aid at Memorial Hospital, where she met her husband during World War II. She also was a cafeteria mother.
She was also Cub Scout mother and helped coach the Logansport Loganettes Softball Team. Beverly also played on the 1945 Logansport Girls Softball Traveling Team. She enjoyed IU basketball, and one of her favorite things to do was to take care of her grandchildren.
Surviving are daughter, Karen S. Roller, Logansport; sons, Mark D. Ashby and wife, Gwen, Logansport, and Richard Ashby and wife, Sharon, Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters, Joretta Cosby and Carmen Moore and husband, Howard, all of Burlington; grandsons, Bryon Ashby, Chicago, and Andrew Ashby and wife, Tammy, Grand Rapids, Mich.; granddaughters, Kimberly Campbell and husband, John, Burnettsville, Lindsay Roller and Lee Ann Ashby, both of Logansport; great-grandson, Tyler Reddington, Burnettsville; great-granddaughters, Amber Casey Chicago, Madison Reddington, Burnettsville, and Elizabeth Ashby, Jessalyn Ashby and Madison Ashby, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Snyder and one sister, Vadetta Dyer.
Dr. Horace Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
