Services for Beverly Jane Smith-Woltman, 81, Westchester, Ill., formerly of Logansport, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died at Friday, May 1, 2009, in Westchester, Ill.

Born Dec. 17, 1927, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Robert R. Ward and Marie L. Maze.

She was married on Aug. 25, 1946, in Cass County, to John Herbert Smith, who preceded in death Nov. 25, 1989. She was married on June 19, 1904 in Westchester, Ill., to Howard R. Woltman, who survives.

Beverly was a former bookkeeper for Air Way Corporation of Indianapolis. She was also a former auction clerk for Aaron & Miller Auctioneers and had worked part-time for Corso Cleaners West in Logansport.

She was a former member of the Helm Street Church of God, The Baptist Temple, North Central and Cass County Democrat Women’s Club, Home and Hobby Club and Daughters of The Nile No. 30 of Indianapolis. She was a 1945 graduate of Young America High School.

Also surviving are her daughter, Joyce M. Musgrave and husband, Dennis, Forney, Texas; son, Steven “Michael” Smith and wife, Irene, Milton, Fla.; stepson, Richard Woltman and wife, April, Broadview, Ill.; stepdaughter, Nancy Murfin and Steve Wilson, Augusta, Ill.; sister, Clarisse Byers and husband, Dean, Plymouth; brother, Bill Ward and wife, Anita, Logansport; 10 grandchildren, CeAnn Newton, Kurt Musgrave, Kathy Woodruff, J.D., Glen, Joey, Adam, Michael Smith, Roland Cuspodio and Marvin Cuspidio; seven great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

One brother, John Robert Ward, preceded in death.

Pastor Joseph Mills will officiate. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery, Galveston.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
