Services for Bobby Gene Spencer, 71, Burnettsville, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 3:05 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, in his sonâs residence in Logansport.
Born Aug. 5, 1937, in Clay City, Ky., he was the son of Charles C. and Bunah Rogers Spencer. He was married Oct. 19, 1957, in Waynesville, Mo., to Edna Knight, who survives.
He retired as an asphalt plant engineer for E&B Paving.
Mr. Spencer was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Operator Engineers Union Local 103. He loved auctions, junk and mules, and most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.
Also surviving are sons, Mike Spencer and wife, Sherry, and Kelly Spencer and wife, Teresa, all of Logansport; daughters, Toni Seward and husband, Don, Logansport, Tammy Primmer, New Waverly, Texas, and Bobbi Calloway and husband, Kevin, Logansport; sisters, Marilyn Melroy, Shirley Pickens, Gloria Austin and Charlene Turner and husband, John, all of Logansport; grandchildren, Kelly Caye Shively and husband, Nate, Shane Michael, Kayla McFarland, Jonathan Spencer, Stephanie Spencer, Steven Seward, Mikel Seward, Matt Calloway, Malinda Calloway, Blake Calloway and Kaliegh Calloway, all of Logansport; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Megan Seward, and one brother, Dickson Spencer.
Mike Spencer and Kelly Spencer will officiate. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
