Calvin S. “Cap’n Crunch” Waldron, 65, Logansport, died at 11:27 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, in his residence.

Born May 11, 1945, in Elkhart, he was the son of Calvin and Phyllis Clark Waldron.

He was a former Logansport Municipal Utility worker, auctioneer and well known radio personality.

He was a member of the Eagles FOE 323 and William Paca Lodge.

Crunch was well known in the community for his love of music and his electronic expertise. Crunch was also well known for his involvement in countless community events. He was instrumental in getting an outdoor stage at the 4-H Fairgrounds.

He could be heard on Saturday mornings when he hosted the Roots of Hoosier Country and also when hosting the Hoosier Country Jamboree. The most satisfaction of his career was from the events hosted at Peak Community Services.

Surviving are his life partner, Jill Liming, Logansport; sons, Tony Waldron and wife, Jennifer, Mishawaka, and Brock Waldron and wife, Cara, Florida; daughters, Wendy Waldron Bailey, South Bend, and Kimberly Waldron and Lauren Waldron, both of Logansport; grandsons, Aden Waldron, Logansport, and Kaine Bailey, South Bend; granddaughter, Kathryne Bailey, South Bend; brothers, Michael Waldron, Sarasota, Fla., and Phillip Waldron, Michigan; and sister, Sarah Waldron, Fort Wayne.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Logansport.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cass County 4-H.
