Carl L. Morrilll, 83, of Logansport , passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 1:45 PM in Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born February 17, 1930 in Argos, Indiana, he was the son of the late Herbert and Essie (Leffert) Morrill.
Carl was an insurance salesman for Lafayette Life and Metropolitan Insurance in his later years. During the late 1960s he was part owner and manager of the Tastee-Freez and prior to that he worked for the Jewel Tea Company, making home deliveries.
Mr. Morrill was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
He enjoyed playing euchre anywhere he could find a game, and was a fan of the Indiana Pacers from the ABA days. Carl was a regular at McDonalds as a member of the Sunshine Club when he was in Logansport and he enjoyed spending his winters with Dorothy and his "Florida friends" in Zephyrhills. He took up running in his late 40's and competed in many local road races and marathons. He was quite proud of the academic accomplishments of his granddaughters Ashlynn, Alli, and Taylor.
Surviving family members are a son, Brian Morrill (Tara), Logansport; daughter, Carla Cesarski (Rich), Cary, North Carolina; two brothers, Art Morrill (Lois), Argos; Harold Morrill, Greenville, Tennessee; devoted and loving companion, Dorothy Waitt; three grandchildren, Ashlynn Morrill, Alli Morrill, both of Indianapolis; Taylor Cesarski, Cary, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gabriel and one sister, Ruth.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 28, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home, with Dr. Horace Smith officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rochester, IN.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
