Carmen A. Conklin, 73, of Logansport passed away at 8:32 pm Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in her residence.
Born October 29, 1939 in Converse, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mary Agnes (Burke) Harbert. On May 24, 1958 she married Lester Conklin who preceded in death on July 20, 2009.
She retired from White Rodgers after 15 years of service and Coffman Enterprise.
Carmen enjoyed playing BINGO, cards, gardening, fishing, mushroom hunting, walking her dog "Baby", and spending time with the family on Sunday afternoons for dinner.
Surviving are two daughters, Robin (Lonnie) Hildebrand; and Christina and Jim (Titus) Conklin, both of Logansport; one son, WIlliam (Sarah) Conklin, Logansport; one step son, Lewis Frank Conklin, Logansport; two brothers, Wayne (Mary) Strayer, Howell, IN; Butch (Billy Jo) Hitchens, Wardell, MO; three sisters, Betty Cunningham, California; Marlene (Bob) Compton, Bristol, TN; and Freda (Dick) Dodt, Burnettsville; nine grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson "Sunny" Harbert, and Richard Lowe, one sister, Sally Talbutt, and one son, Lester Conklin Jr.
A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 12, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home, with Kelly Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and Peyton Manning Children's Hospital.
