Carol Ann Smith

Carol Ann Smith, 84, of Logansport, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, in the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada).

Born on February 23, 1939, in Antwerp, Ohio, Carol is the daughter of the late Nathan and Irma (Matzen) Doctor.  On August 26, 1960, in Harlan, Indiana, she married Jack D. Smith who preceded in death on August 24, 2004.

Carol worked as a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital until she retired in 2011. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving Carol is a daughter, Lisa Ann (Charles David) Whitesell of Richwood, OH; three granddaughters, Amie Thomas of Columbus, OH; Briana (Zach) Striling of Lexington, KY; Alexandria Thompson of Dayton, OH; grandson, Nathaniel (Colleen Loughran) Thomas of Leesburg, VA; sister, Mary Peffer of Virginia Beach, VA; and 4 great grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Lee Smith.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday November 9, 2023, in the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. David J. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church.
