Carole Sue Deitrich

Carole Sue Deitrich, 90, of Logansport, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on October 16, 1934, in Marion, Indiana, Sue is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Carmen (Graves) Smith. On March 22, 1953, in the Galveston Methodist Church, Sue married Kenneth E. Deitrich who preceded in death on March 13, 2010.

Sue was a proud farmer’s wife. She was a member of the Royal Center Order of the Eastern Star, Clymer’s United Methodist Church, WSCS Ladies Aux., V.F.W. Post 3790 Ladies Aux, and the 40 & 40 Home Extension Homemakers Club.

Surviving Sue is a son, Duane (Theresa) Deitrich of Logansport; daughter, Beth Flagg of New Haven, IN son in law, John Heckard of Logansport; eight grandchildren, Brooklynn (Matt) Nicoson; Zachary (Marisa) Deitrich; Baleigh (Ryan) Salvino; Erika Lynn (Paul) VanWhye; Kyle DuBois; Jessica (Jon) Crill; Matthew (Jessica) Heckard; Kimberly (Jeff) Pursch; several great grandchildren.

Sue was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Heckard and a brother, Stanley Smith.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Gundrum Funeral Home with a celebration of life service to be held at 3:00 pm. A burial will follow in the St. John’s Cemetery, Logansport.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, or the Clymer’s Volunteer Fire Department.
