CAROLYN J. JAMISON, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1 st at 6:06 pm, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was surrounded by family, following a recent illness.

A lifelong resident of Cass County, she was born December 17, 1935, to Ralph V. and Minnie K. (Deitrich) Jones. She graduated from Logansport High School with the class of 1954.

She married her high school sweetheart, Don C. Jamison, on May 22, 1955, at the Ninth Street Christian Church, now River of Life Christian Church in Logansport.

She worked as a legal secretary for many years and retired from the firm of Michael & Stephenson. She was a great lover of music and served 35 years as Director of Music at Ninth Street Christian Church where she directed the choirs and musical programs. She also worked on the regional and state level with their music programs.

She loved singing and directing choirs and performed all over the state.

She and Don were both lifetime members of Ninth Street Christian Church/River of Life Christian Church. Their children were all baptized and married in the church and all eight grandchildren were baptized in the church.

Carolyn and her husband, Don, loved their winters spent at their Florida home at Rainbow Resort in Frostproof, Fl and they had many friends and wonderful experiences there.

Carolyn served her church in many ways. In addition to being Director of Music, she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship locally, and on the regional and state levels. She served as an Elder in the church, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, member of the Sanctuary choir and Bell choir. She served many years as song leader for the Church Women United breakfasts and had also directed the Community choir for the Easter Sunrise Services.

She loved her family and took great pride in their activities and accomplishments.

Surviving are son, Mark and his wife, Donna Jamison; and daughter, Vicky and her husband, Greg Marschand. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Jennifer and Jeff Moss, Adam Scott, Ashley and Andy Pedigo, Jessica and Kevin Lucy, Julia Jamison and Heath Camp, Stephanie and Adrian Holt, Alyssa Truax and Rob Michael, and Justin Jamison and fiancée Kelley Thomson. Great-grandchildren are: Jocelynne Moss, Zayne Scott, Damon McGuire, Jenna Moss, Paley Scott, Madison Dixson, Alexis Neal, Crew Scott, Payton Dixson, Jonathan Moss, Hudson Pedigo, Rhory Holt, Hagen Pedigo, Jace Michael, Liam Lucy, and Jordan Michael. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Phyllis Jamison, and several nieces and nephews.

Step-grandchildren are Ara and Brice Sheriff, Blake and Tara Marschand, and Carley and Curt Rawlings. Step great-grandchildren are Zane Lucy, Kalyn and Emma Dixson, Briggs Sheriff, Kinsley and Bayah Marschand and Ella and Brynley Rawlings.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Don C. Jamison, who went to his heavenly home on March 16, 2014; and a beloved daughter, Cathy Lynne Truax, who went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2003.

Carolyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday Dec. 5, 2017 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. Sam Young and Rev. Paula Neibert officiating. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 – 7 pm Monday Dec. 4, 2017 and 1-hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
