Caylus Harrison Jr

LOGANSPORT — Caylus A. “Junior” Harrison, 81, Logansport, died at 6:10 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, in Monticello Assisted Living and Health Care Center, Monticello.

Born June 3, 1928, in Logansport, he was the son of Caylus Harrison Sr. and Nettie LaBounty.

He retired from Exide (factory).

Mr. Harrison served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he served at Fort Knox as Military Police. He was also a sharpshooter and received the World War II Victory Medal.

He loved to visit with his family and play with the kids. He also enjoyed visiting with friends at the VFW and American Legion Post 60, where he was also a member.

Surviving are daughters, Gwen Herrick and husband, John, Royal Center, Nina King and husband, Kevin, Memphis, Tenn., and Joy Harrison and her companion, Danny Tincher, Monon; son, Craig Harrison and wife, Sherri, Royal Center; grandchildren, Valerie Bryson and husband, William, Star City, Christine Santora and husband, Dennis, Cheyenne, Wyo., Carie Jones, Logansport, Destiney King, Jacksonville, Fla., Dustin Rush, Logansport, Kaylan King, Memphis, Tenn., Jessica Wilson, Logansport, Jacinta Wilson, Kokomo, Joel Wilson and Justin Wilson, both of Monon, Jacob Harrison and Jenna Harrison, both of Royal Center, Shane Sites and wife, Jennifer, and Nathan Sites and wife, Amy, all of Muncie; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Harrison and wife, Annie, Logansport; and sisters, Marlene Hall, Logansport, and Maxine Acuff, Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Harrison; one daughter, Lori Harrison; and two brothers, Jerry and Jack Harrison.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. William Art Maloney and Pastor Aaron Gross officiating. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Clymers Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
