Services for Chalmer O. “Wimp” Maxwell, 89, Logansport, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

He died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, in WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born April 19, 1918, in Logansport, he was the son of George Elmer and Ruth Pearl Gibson Maxwell. He was married Aug. 5, 1939, in Logansport, to Emma Elizabeth “Betty” Reed, who preceded in death June 18, 2006.

He retired from Rockwell International in 1977 after 30 years of service. He also worked at RBM.

He was a member of the River of Life Christian Church. Chalmer was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and was a Plank Member of the USS Zellars. He also was a member of the VFW Post 3790 and the Elks Lodge 66.

Surviving are one son, Joe Maxwell and wife, Melissa, Modesto, Calif.; daughter, Jill Lynn Stienbarger and husband, Larry, Logansport; and grandson, Chris Stienbarger and wife, Cara, Logansport.

The Rev. Frank Hibbard will officiate. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
