Charles “Chuck” B. Appleton, 82, of Burrows, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 in his residence.
Born on June 12, 1937 in Camden, Indiana, he is the son to the late Jay and Opal (Gray) Appleton. On February 11, 1962 he married Carolyn Massey who survives.
Chuck is a United States Army Veteran. He had worked for Farm Bureau in Clymers, Green Tree Feeds and was a custodian for the Carroll County Courthouse. He ran the grain elevator in Burnettsville for eight years and was a member of Clymers United Methodist Church.
Surviving along with his wife are three daughters, Cathy Walters of Logansport, IN, Cora (John) Krieg of Carthage, MO, Cindy McGuire of Burrows, IN; son, Curtis (Alisa) Appleton of Burrows, IN; two granddaughters, Brianna Walters of Delphi, IN, Ali Krieg of Carthage, MO; four grandsons, Brady McGuire of Logansport, IN, Kyle Appleton of Franklin, IN, Austin Appleton of Burrows, IN, Zach Appleton of Burrows, IN; great-granddaughter, McKinzie McGuire of Logansport, IN; brother, Harold Appleton of Walton, IN;
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Appleton, Tom Appleton, Joe Appleton, and two sisters, Jane Slusser and Katie Michael.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am Monday August 12, 2019 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Selvidge & Pastor Branden Scott. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery near Logansport.
A visitation will be held on Sunday August 11, 2019 from 2- 6 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Burrows Fire Dept. or the Radnor United Methodist Church.
