Charles D. Hardt, 91, Logansport, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, in his residence.
He was born July 15, 1921, in Logansport, the son of Frederick and Martha Packard Hardt. He was married June 27, 1941, in Logansport to Margery Hoch, who preceded in death Oct. 6, 1984. He was married Nov. 30, 1985, in Denver to Rosemary Murphy Fahl, who survives.
He retired as a welder for Conrail Railroad in 1982 after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Miami Baptist Church, American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790. Mr. Hardt was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary E. Hardt, Logansport; daughters, Carol Sue McGhee and husband, Harold, Riverview, Fla., and Joyce Dalton, Logansport; son, Charles F. Hardt, Logansport; stepson-in-law, James Smith, Indianapolis; stepson, Stanley Fahl and wife, Carol, Fort Wayne; brother-in-law, Keith Walker, Logansport; sister, Joan Davidson and husband, Richard, Logansport; brother, John Hardt and wife, Fran, Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren; give stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren
One grandson, Courtney Hardt; two sisters, Helen Moore and Carolyn Walker; a brother, Robert Hardt; and a stepdaughter, Sonna Smith, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Spencer officiating. Burial with full military graveside services will be at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Miami Baptist Church Building Fund.
