Charlotte Louise (Hill) Myers Huffman went to her new home in Heaven on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the age of 102. She was born September 24, 1922, to Lyman and Mabel (Warner) Hill on the family farm in Fulton County. She was the 5th of 8 children. Charlotte graduated from Grass Creek High School with the class of 1940, and was the last surviving member of the class. On December 27, 1942, she married her high school sweetheart, Dale F. Myers. After Dale returned from serving in the Army Air Force, they raised 3 children on the family dairy farm in the Deer Creek area. Charlotte also worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Camden Elevator and Yeager and Sullivan in Carroll County, before becoming a secretary at Delco Radio and moving to Kokomo. While living in Kokomo, she and Dale were active members of the Bible Baptist Church. After Dale’s death in 1980, she retired from Delco in 1982.
In 1985, Charlotte moved back to The Deer Creek area to be near family. During that time, she attended Galveston Baptist and Deer Creek Presbyterian Churches. On April 5,1997, she married Carl Huffman. They were together until his death in 2008.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings: Donald Hill, Warren Hill, Marjorie Working, Mildred Dieterle, David Hill, and Dorothy Huffman, and a daughter-in-law, Sharron Myers.
Charlotte is survived by her children: Paul (Bonnie) Myers, Deer Creek, Bob (JoAnn) Myers, Southington CT, Jane (Tom) Myer, Kokomo, and stepchildren: Elaine (Jack) Hartigan, Hillsboro, OR, Alan (Jessica) Huffman, Brownsburg and Rita (Carl) Ault, Fulton Co.
She also is survived by her grandchildren: Cathy (Chris) Witucki, Canyon Country, CA, Paula (Quentin) Dodd, Crawfordsville, Alison ( Scott) Wessel, Westfield, Jason (Meredith) Myers, Rocky Hill, CT, Courtney (Ryan) Babb, Anderson, Rachel (Chris) Snow, Southington, CT, and Addie (Ryan) Kolb, Newnan, GA. Also her step grandchildren: Gavin (Lynn) Hartigan, Hillsboro, OR, Ryan (Sarah) Hartigan, Zach (Beth) Huffman, Avon, Alyssa Huffman, Avon, Heather (James) Jackson, Westfield, Aaron (Laura) Ault, Rochester, April (Shane) Grubb, Macy, 12 great grandchildren and 13 step grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Adams of Royal Center and many treasured nieces and nephews.
Coming from a musical family, she will be remembered for her beautiful soprano voice, which she shared with her family, her strong work ethic, her desire to create family fun, and her ability to pull full meals from her freezer to feed unexpected guests.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday March 21, 2025, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Mike Munson officiating. A burial will follow in Grass Creek Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of services on Friday at the funeral home
The family would like to express their thanks to Joyce Eckelbarger and the Neal Home, Elara Caring for her Hospice Care, and special thanks to her care giver, Susan Burge and her crew for their many hours of kindness and caring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Deer Creek Presbyterian Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
