LOGANSPORT — Clara A. Whisler, 89, Logansport, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her residence.

Born Jan. 3, 1922, in Fulton, she was the daughter of Orville and Freda Kendall King. She was married Sept. 11, 1944, in Logansport, to Marvin E. Whisler, who preceded in death Dec. 27, 2001.

Clara retired from The Fashion Shop in downtown Logansport.

Clara had also worked at the HW Gossard Store and the WT Grant Store at Eastgate.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, and she enjoyed singing in several area churches.

Surviving are daughters, Marcheta McBride and husband, Bob, Logansport, Ferry Bunting and husband, Dan, Carmel, and Carmen Hopkins and husband, Kerry, Twelve Mile; seven grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Shannon Kelly McBride.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastors Andy Weil and Bob Gray officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God Church or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
