Services for Claude Hardy, 73, Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

He died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, with his family by his side.

Born July 8, 1935, in Cass County, he was the son of Clarence Edward Hardy and Mary M. Campbell. He was married July 6, 1957, in Logansport, to Evelyn Robeson.

Claude retired in 1998 as a supervisor for Essroc Cement Plant in Logansport after more than 35 years of service.

He was a 1954 graduate of Logansport High School. Claude served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1960 in San Antonio, Texas. He enjoyed animals and especially bird watching. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid reader. He never missed an opportunity to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Hardy, Logansport; son, James D. Hardy and wife Melissa, Logansport, and Brian C. Hardy and wife, Marla, Logansport; brother, Eddie Hardy and wife, Lil, Walton, and Jerry Hardy, Burnettsville; aunt, June Campbell, Logansport; four grandchildren, Joshua Hardy, Jacob Hardy, Andrew Murray and Ryan Murray; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, China Baby.

One brother, Gib Campbell; and brother-in-law and wife, Art and Mary Campbell, preceded in death.

Pastor John Drexler will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
