Clyde E. Pickens, 74, Logansport, died 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Memorial Hospital’s emergency room in Logansport.
He was born June 24, 1932, in Fulton County to Frank E. and Blanche (Morris) Pickens. On May 3, 1952, he married Shirley Y.
Spencer in Young America.
He was a retired office employee for Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
A member of Metea Baptist Church, Clyde enjoyed watching Colts football, NASCAR, Pacers basketball and attending flea markets.
In addition to his wife, Shirley Y. Pickens, Logansport, he is survived by five daughters, Cathy March, Lucerne, Becky Ruff and husband Paul, Royal Center, Stephanie Weaver and husband Howard, Idaville, Melissa Reynoso and husband Armando and Lori Arzola and husband Miguel, all of Logansport; four sons, Clyde Pickens Jr.
and wife Veronica, Oxford, Tim Pickens and wife Deb, Lucerne, Dan Pickens, Logansport, and Scot Pickens, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Pickens, Arizona; two brothers, Ralph Pickens and wife Ondah and Clifford Pickens and wife Georgiann, all of Lucerne; sister, Esther Brooks, Rochester; 31 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen C. Pickens; one great-granddaughter, Adrienna March; one son-in-law, Kent March; three sisters, Helen Smith, Mabel Burrous and Edna Annis; four brothers, Herman, Raymond, Frank Jr. and Robert Pickens; and stepmother, Hazel Pickens.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport, with Pastor Bob Cree officiating. Burial will follow in Metea Cemetery, Metea. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the
funeral home.
