Services for Dale Allen Dillman, 88, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church.
He died at 7:10 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2007, in Chase Center.
Born Aug. 2, 1918, in Miami County, he was the son of Dio and Fannie Fry Dillman. Daleâs mother passed away when he was 18 months old, and he was raised by his grandparents, Henry and Letishia Dillman. He was married June 23, 1940, in St. Lukeâs Lutheran Church, Logansport, to Mary Amelia Homburg, who survives.
Mr. Dillman retired in 1970 after 30 years as a tool and die maker for General Tire Company.
He was a 1936 graduate of Metea High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Dale enjoyed traveling and wood working. He also was an avid mushroom hunter and enjoyed looking for arrowheads.
Also surviving are two sons, Roger Dillman and his wife, Carol, Logansport, and Glen Dillman and his wife, Marti, Flora; one sister, Lenna Wilson, Logansport; grandchildren, Kristie Hoopengardner and her husband, Brian, Churubusco, Tami Dibble and her husband, Cyle, Logansport, and Alan Dillman and his wife, Suzanne, and Jennifer Dyke and her husband, Chris, all of Camden; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia Dibble, Cameron Dibble, Amber Hoopengardner, Madison Dyke and Ashley Hoopengardner.
Two brothers, Lynn and Verl Dillman, preceded in death.
Pastor Walter Chellberg will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Shideler Cemetery in Logansport.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour before the time of services Tuesday in the church. Church council services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.
