Dale Smith

Services for Dale R. Smith, 48, Logansport, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

He died at 1:25 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2008, in his residence.

Born Feb. 18, 1960, in Ypsilanti, Mich., he was the son of Gerald and Mary Lou Hiatt Smith. He was married Nov. 10, 1981, in Logansport, to Wanda K. Spencer, who survives.

He had been employed since 1981 at the Logansport Pizza Hut.

Dale was a member of Rehoboth Christian Center. He was raised in Shelburn until the age of 19 when he moved to Logansport. He loved fishing, electronics and spending time with his family.

Also surviving are daughters, Marissa D. Smith and Kayanna M. Smith, both of Logansport; sister-in-law, Sandra L. Smith-Oehlert, Logansport; niece, Allison Oehlert, Logansport; nephew, Jerald W. Smith, Logansport; and four great-nephews, Michael, Darrin, Zachery and Jeffrey Smith.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry D. Smith, and maternal grandparents, Clarence and Edna Hiatt.

Pastor Richard Conrad will officiate. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Logansport.

Friends may call from noon until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rehoboth Christian Center.
