LOGANSPORT â Daniel R. Dooley, 67, Logansport, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Indianapolis.
Born Jan. 4, 1945, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Richard
Dooley and Mary Hutton. He was married Oct. 9, 1999, in
Logansport, to Patricia âPattiâ Frye.
A 1963 graduate of Ben Davis High School, he also attended Purdue University, and he was a successful wrestler at both. Dan coached multiple sports teams for his sons while they were growing up. He was a successful, hardworking, business entrepreneur. A wonderful husband, he and his wife, Patti, traveled extensively together for business and pleasure.
The greatest love of life was his family, he was a great âPa-Pawâ and father. By all measures he lived life to its fullest.
Surviving are his wife, Patti Dooley, Logansport; sons, Kurt Dooley (Stephanie), Maineville, Ohio, Craig Dooley (Tracie), Pleasant Plain, Ohio, and Matt Dooley (Jess), Maineville, Ohio; stepdaughter, Beth Hershberger (Bob Zimmerman), Logansport; stepson, Jeffrey Hershberger (Leigh Ann), Logansport; mother, Mary Dooley, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Alex Dooley, Megan Dooley, Clay Zimmerman, Riley Hershberger, Liam Dooley, Sam Dooley, Max Dooley, Keira Dooley, Jaxson Zimmerman and Mya Hershberger; brothers and sisters, Mike Dooley (Barbara), Rochester, N.Y., Susan Schaaf, Indianapolis, and Cory Dooley (Rita), Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dooley, and
brother, Pat Dooley.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Chaplain Scott Ellison officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
