Darin E. Small, 43, Walton, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Howard Regional Health System. He was born Aug. 27,1962, in Logansport, to Bill and Connie (Shaff) Small. He married Carla J. Rush on Nov. 7, 1981, in Walton. He was a heavy equipment operator for Engineering Aggregates. Darin was a member of Blue Ball Church. He was a 1980 graduate of Lewis Cass High School and was certified as a welder through IVY Tech State College. He enjoyed fishing, Purdue sports, Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts.
Surviving are his wife, Carla Small and children, Braydon Small, Cara Small and Aly Small, all of Walton; parents, Bill and Connie Small, Walton; brother, Mark Small and wife, Lisa, Walton; sister, Tammy Small, Walton; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Lucile Shaft, Logansport; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Small.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at The Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Walton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Darin Small Trust Fun C/O Logansport Savings & Loan.
