Darla J. McLeland, 54, Logansport, died at 2:35 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
The daughter of Donald and Jean F. Firmani Elliott, she was born June 1, 1955 in Logansport. On July 19, 1975, she married Gary M. McLeland at St. Elizabeth Church in Lucerne.
She was a secretary for the State of Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation Department.
Darla enjoyed card games, flowers, watching wildlife and was formerly active in 4-H. She had a passion for her job and enjoyed the many people she worked with.
Darla married her high school sweetheart, her best friend and the love of her life.
Surviving are her husband, Gary M. McLeland, Logansport; her son, Adam McLeland and wife Kim, West Lafayette; her mother, Jean F. Tyler, Logansport; her father, Donald Elliott and wife Cletha, Logansport; three sisters, Darlene Scales and husband Bob, Englewood, Fla., Donna Quain and husband Mike, Terre Haute, and Dyanna Elliott and Pat Farrell, Indianapolis; two brothers, Donald âBuzzâ Elliott and wife Pat, Frankfort, and David Elliott and wife Susie, Flora; three grandchildren, Jillian, Max and Allison Rose McLeland; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Wilma Ausbrook officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
