David Glenn Berry, 49, Kewanna, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, in Austin, Texas.
He was born Aug. 9, 1961, in Logansport to Thomas James and Lois E. Vogel Berry. On March 5, 1983, he married Melanie J. Davis, who survives.
David was an instrumental part of the family business, Jim Berry and Sonâs Inc., and was also a farmer. He frequently traveled to Texas to buy trucks and trailers. He would refurbish the trucks, add grain beds and sell them to farmers and other businesses.
He was a 1979 graduate of Caston High School and a member of The Lucerne Christian Church, Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department and Wayne Township Advisory Board.
Survivors include his wife, Melanie J. Berry, Kewanna; son, Adam Berry and wife Ashly, Logansport; daughter, Hali Berry, Kewanna; mother, Lois E. Berry, Kewanna; brothers, Jim Berry and wife Sharon and Pat Berry and wife Tracy, all of Kewanna; sisters, Ellen King and husband Don, Rochester, and Kathy Green and husband Ron, Kewanna; granddaughter, Genevieve Grace Berry; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, Thomas James Berry; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Ann Davis.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport with Pastor Dirk Raderstorf officiating. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home.
