David Victor âPickleâ Collins, 74, Logansport, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born March 5, 1938, in Logansport, he was the son of Ted Collins and Martha M. Moss. He was married May 23, 1990, in Logansport, to Betty L. Koeniger.
He retired in 2000 from General Tire after 37 years of service as a fork truck driver. He was a member of the VFW Post 3790 and American Legion Post 60.
Dave was an Army veteran serving in France.
Surviving are wife, Betty Collins, Logansport; daughter, Sharen Collins Baxley and husband, Keith, Huntsville, Ala.; stepdaughter, Randie Veach and husband, Troy, Burrows, and Stephanie Lovings and husband, Larry, North Carolina; stepson, James R. Baker, Fort Wayne; brothers, Danny Collins and wife, Judy, Logansport, and Jerry Collins, Logansport; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. Also, several nieces and nephews surviving.
He was preceded in death by six brothers; four sisters, and one stepgrandchild.
Military graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Burial, with full military rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
