David Downs

.David Duvall Downs, 67, Logansport, died at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at his residence.

Born Feb. 1, 1943, in Sheridan, he was the sone of James Marvin and Virginia Richardson Downs. He married Evelyn E. Nethercutt on June 12, 1976, in Logansport.

He retired from the City of Logansport Street Department.

Dave was a member of Baptist Temple Church and enjoyed attending different area festivals.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn E. Downs, Logansport; daughter, Tammy K. Williams and husband Brett, Logansport; sons, Tony C. Sherwood, Logansport, Robert J. Sherwood, Indianapolis, and Richard E. Sherwood and wife Mary, Fort Wayne; brothers, Dale Downs, Logansport, and Jimmy Downs, Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Joyce Downs, Orlando, Fla., and Janet Vaughn, Logansport; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Several brothers and sisters preceded in death.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Wade officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport. Visitiation will be from noon until time of services Tuesday.
