David Roberson


David L. Roberson, 72, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2013 at 9:30 pm in Lafayette, IN.

Born on October 25, 1941, in Hammond, Indiana, he was the son of the late George Lowell and Frances Isabelle (Appleton) Roberson. On April 5, 2003 in Nashville, Indiana he married Gail L. (Stringer) Garrison who survives.

David retired from Chrysler in 1994 after working there 30 years. He also owned and operated Roberson Body Shop during that time. He was a 1959 graduate of Washington Township High School in Cass County. David was a member of the Moose Lodge #232 for 20 years, he was also a member of the Local UAW #1320. David enjoyed working on the family farm, and the old farm equipment. He also liked to go antiquing, and working on his 1948 Willys Jeep.

Surviving along with his wife Gail, are two daughters, Debbie (Kerry) Brown, Pendleton, IN; Lori (Marty) Boyer, Indianapolis; two step sons, E. Chris (Amy) Garrison; Karl Garrison & Kerra Wagener, both of Indianapolis; Sister, Sandra Williams, El Cajon, CA; brother, John (Joanne) Roberson, Winchester, TN; two grandsons, Kyle and Cody Brown, Pendleton, IN; four step grandchildren, Nick Garrison, Justin Garrison, Andrew Shaw and Sarah Shaw.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and William Roberson.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor Aaron Gross officiating. Burial will be in Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association.
