David Smith

David A. Smith, 44, of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014.

Born on November 16, 1969, he was the son of Robert and Kelta Diane (Coapstick) Smith. On September 28, 2013 in Indianapolis, he married Angel C. Downs who survives.

David was a machinist for Caterpillar. He was an avid motorcycle rider and a United States Army Veteran, where he served as a medic.

Surviving along with his wife is his son, Nicolas Smith; daughter, Sierra Smith, both of Frankfort; step son, Christopher Tremblay, Logansport; mother and father, Robert and Kelta Diane Smith, Frankfort; four brothers, Lyle Youngs, Michigan; Bobby (Patty Ann) Smith, Hamel, IL; Chad Smith, Frankfort; and Cleatus Smith, Florida.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Parker; sister, Olivia Suite; son, Keith Smith; and one step daughter, Leanna Tremblay.

A funeral service with military rites will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Wade officiating. Burial will be at the Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
