Delvie Eugene Price, 85, Logansport, passed away Monday at 12:51 am in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born March 11, 1928 in Hammond, IN to the late Sylvester J. and Nellie (Grafton) Price. On December 2, 1950 in Monticello, IN he married DeEtta D. Watkins, who survives. Delvie was very proud of the fact he had just celebrated sixty three years of marriage.

Delvie joined WSE in 1962 as a car salesman and continued working in the same building for forty four years, selling for Burger Chevrolet and Dan Young Chevrolet. He also sold for Mike Andersons GM Supercenter.
Delvie graduated from Hammond Technical Vocational High School in 1946. He was a United States Navy Veteran and while in the Navy he was a member of the Norfolk Naval Air Station Flyers Basketball Team. In 1949 he flew to Pearl Harbor to play in the all Navy Tournament, which they won that year and the following year. Delvie was a Life member of the V.F.W. Post #3790 and Calvary Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball, softball, golf and bowling.

Other survivors include one daughter, Brenna Price-Reinking, Logansport; one son, Bradley Eugene (Vonda) Price, Logansport; four granddaughters, Courtney (Wes) Beckom, Kokomo; Lindsay Reinking, Kokomo; Hayley (Bradley) Marchese, Kokomo; Shelby Analyce Price, Logansport; one great granddaughter, Corrigan Beckom, Kokomo; half brother, Ronald (Barbara) Kiser, Kokomo; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Taylor and Martha Price.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
