Biography

Donald E. Albert, 78, of Logansport, passed away at 4:38 am Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Chase Center.

Don was born July 23, 1935 in Logansport to the Late Raymond and Theda G. (Turnpaugh) Albert.
On April 26, 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada Don married Jacqueline "Jackie" Mary Sears who preceded in death on December 4, 2009.

Don had formerly worked at Transco, Chrysler and the Logansport Airport.

He was a Ham Radio Operator and a member of the New Waverly United Methodist Church. He was a member of Tipton Masonic Lodge #33 Don enjoyed computers, trains, flying and spending time with family and friends. Don was a character and once you met him you would never forget him.

Survivors include one son, James (Alicia) Albert, of Rosedale, IN; one daughter, Julianna Hollandsworth, Noblesville, IN; two sisters, Diane (Jerry) Hunt and Linda(Dave) Dunkle, both of Logansport; eight grandchildren, Timothy, Steven, Paul, Hannah and Daniel Hollandsworth, James, Caleb and Isaac Albert.

Don was preceded in death by step-dad, Marion A. Leffel and nephew Jerry L. Hunt.

A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Gundrum Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow. In addition graveside rites will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00PM till 6:30PM at Gundrum Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the New Waverly United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
