Donald E. Hayden, 77, Logansport, passed away at 7:18 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Seton Specialty Hospital, Lafayette.
He was born Jan. 19, 1933, in Logansport to Oscar Hayden and Geneva Timberman Hayden. He had been married to Beverly Cotner for 58 years.
He retired from Matthew-Warren and Rockwell International after 31 years of service.
Donald was a graduate from Washington Township High School.
He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790. He was also a member of the Logansport Fraternal Order of Police and the Tipton Masonic Lodge 33.
He was a Navy veteran serving on the U.S.S. Des Moines during the Korean conflict.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandkids and little poodle, Sandy.
He is survived by wife, Beverly Hayden, Logansport; daughter, Carolyn Hayden, Logansport; sons, Tom Hayden and wife, Anita, Mike Hayden, Gary Hayden and Ronnie Hayden and wife, Claudia, all of Logansport; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Michael Hayden Jr., and brothers, Larry L. Hayden and James âJimâ B. Hayden.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Kelly Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, with full military rites.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday.
