Services for Donald Jones, 89, Logansport, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009, in Millerâs Merry Manor.
Born Nov. 24, 1919, in Logansport, he was the son of Robert L. and Kathryn Hoker Jones. He was married Dec. 6, 1948, in Walton, to Martha Lou Wilson, who preceded in death April 13, 2004.
Donald retired in 1984 after 17 years of service at the Logansport State Hospital. Donald also and owned and operated Jones Heating and Air Conditioning from 1949 to 1967.
He was a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 60, and he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Don enjoyed the Jones family reunions held at the Logansport Armory every Thanksgiving. He also enjoyed watching sports.
Surviving are son, Rod Jones and wife, Mary, Logansport; daughter, Debra K. Woolington and husband, Mike, Logansport; son, Michael Alan Jones, Indianapolis; brothers, Gerald Jones and wife, Phyllis, Walton, Richard Jones and wife, Clara, Logansport, and Thomas Jones and wife, Gail, Kokomo; sisters, Betty Thompson, Logansport, Clara Johnson, Fort Worth, Texas, and Janet Byers and husband, Jay, Logansport; grandchildren, Joshua Lowe and wife, Misty, Twelve Mile, Joshua, Jacob and Justin Jones, Indianapolis, Candi Roberts and husband, Faron, Logansport, Corrie Timmons and husband, Brian, Goshen, Carly Crowe and husband, Jon, Fishers, and Christy Jones, Indianapolis; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Pamela âSusieâ Jones; two brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter.
Pastor George Plasterer will officiate. Burial, with full military rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
