Donald Rush Sr.

Donald F. Rush Sr., 87, passed away on Thursday April 28, 2016 in his daughters residence in Burnettsville, IN.

Born January 26, 1929 in Logansport, he was the son to the late Joseph Frederick and Virginia Pearl (Haynes) Rush.

Donald retired from Rockwell International in Logansport after 30 years of service and served in the U.S. Army during WW2 from 1946 to 1949.

Donald loved and enjoyed all of his family. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandkids, all very much in his own special way.

He was a huge sports enthusiast. Notre Dame Football, IU basketball, Green Bay Packers, and Boston Celtics were some of his favorites. His most favorite team he loved was the lovable Chicago Cubs. "Let's play two" Dad also started playing golf in his sixties and loved nothing more than going to Dykeman golf course just to hit golf balls.

Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Rush, Logansport; Rose Marie (Richard) Nolen, Burnettsville; Carla Small, Walton; three sons, Donald Rush Jr., John Rush,  Tom (Nancy) Rush, all of Logansport; one step-daughter, Lyla (David) Larimore, Logansport; one step-son, Gordon Gharis, Logansport; Fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, brother, Charles Thomas (Geraldine) Rush, Kokomo; two sisters-in-laws, Kay Rush, Logansport; Marie Rush, Rochester, IN.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Daniel, Deanie and Eddie Rush, one sister, Esther Elsbeck, one granddaughter, Heather, one great grandson, baby Jordan and son-in-law, Darin Small.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at 12:00pm at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Strite officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery with full Military Honors.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service on Wednesday.
