Biography

Donald W. Schreckenghaust, 82 of Logansport, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at 2:41 AM in Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born April 25, 1931 in Grass Creek, Indiana, he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Hazel D. (Gellinger) Schreckenghaust. On December 18, 1976 in Logansport, he married Darline J. Kinger y "Schroder" who survives.

Donald retired from American General Insurance Company as a sales representative. He was also a former auto body repairman.
Donald was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and he served in the United States Navy.

He loved God and his family. He loved cars, camping, and he loved hunting. He loved to travel ,to socialize and have coffee with his buddies.

Surviving along with his wife is one daughter, Kelly Ann (Schreckenghaust)Maggart and Don Singley, Kokomo; two son's, Donald Joseph (Patricia) Schreckenghaust, Kokomo; and Bret Daniel (Sharon) Schreckenghaust, Russiaville; one sister, Bonnie Perkins, Logansport; four step sons, Doug (Theresa) Schroder, Ron (Georgia) Schroder, Michael (Judy) Schroder, all of Logansport; Daniel (LuAnn) Schroder, Twelve Mile; six grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and four great great granddaughters.
Donald was preceded in death by one brother in law, Richard Perkins.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 14, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. Horace Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2013 also in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in Logansport or the American Cancer Society's Cass County Relay for Life.
